Chief Secretary Carrie Lam says a dialogue with the Federation of Students is likely to start next Tuesday at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine building in Wong Chuk Hang.
Speaking to reporters today, Mrs Lam said Lingnan University’s President Leonard Cheng will be the moderator, and each side will send five representatives to attend the dialogue.
Mrs Lam, Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen, Secretary of Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam, Chief Executive’s Office Director Edward Yau, and Under Secretary of Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Lau Kong-wah will attend.
The meeting will last for around two hours and will be broadcast live. There will be no public audience.
Mrs Lam said she is looking forward to having this dialogue with the student representatives.
She also condemned the public unrest in Mong Kok last night, but did not believe the incident would damage the foundation for dialogue with the students.
