Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam says the Shanghai trip for Legislative Council members creates an opportunity for the lawmakers to talk directly to the Central Government.

Speaking to the media today, Mr Tam said the trip also forms a good basis to bridge the differences among political parties, and says he is glad more legislators have agreed to join.

Mr Tam added it is fair and necessary to inject more resources into Basic Law education as the constitutional development consultation is ongoing, and he hopes this can encourage the public to put forward more views and proposals.
