CS: Reform discussion constructive
April 09, 2014
Chief Secretary Carrie Lam heard views on the nominating committee’s composition during a study group on constitutional development today.
She described the discussion with the New People’s Party group as useful and constructive.
She told the media after the meeting the group had consulted various stakeholders, and their views reflect the thinking of a large number of people.
As long as reform proposals are based on Basic Law provisions, there is a good chance the community can forge a consensus to achieve universal suffrage in 2017, Mrs Lam said.
