69 marriage celebrants appointed
*
Immigration Department

The Immigration Department has appointed 69 marriage celebrants, bringing the total to 1,634 since the first batch was appointed in April 2006.

By the end of April 73,200 couples had given their marriage notice through civil celebrants and 73,100 had their marriage solemnised by them.

The scheme is growing more popular as the lifting of restrictions on the time and place of marriage solemnisation brings more choices, greater flexibility and greater convenience to people making wedding arrangements.

Information on the steps and points to note in choosing civil celebrants for marriage celebrations and the updated list is available here.

Leaflets are also available at the department's Information & Liaison Section, and at marriage registries.
