Mohan Bharwaney has been appointed Judge of the Court of First Instance and Anthea Pang made a District Court Judge from February 1, the Judiciary says.

 

Mr Bharwaney was born in 1953 in Hong Kong. He obtained LL.B.(Hons) from the University of Hong Kong in 1976, and was called to the Bar in Hong Kong in 1978 and in Australia in 1991. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2008. He has been in private practice since 1978.

 

Ms Pang was born in Hong Kong in 1962. She obtained a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Hong Kong in 1985, and P.C.LL. in 1994 and LL.M. in 2001. She was called to Bar in Hong Kong in 1994. She joined the then Legal Department as Crown Counsel in 1995 and was promoted to Senior Government Counsel in 1998. She was appointed as Deputy Principal Government Counsel in 2007.
