A woman believed to be about 50 years of age died in a traffic accident in Sham Shui Po early this morning.

At about 0.40am, a 52-year-old man was driving his taxi on Cheung Sha Wan Road towards Mong Kok. Near the junction of Yen Chow Street, the taxi reportedly knocked the woman down as she was crossing the road. She appears to be about 50 years of age, but no identification document was found on her.

She was sent to Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 1.08am.

Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2773 5200.
