168 traffic tickets issued in Kowloon East blitz

Police officers issued a total of 168 fixed-penalty tickets and 144 summonses to motorists and pedestrians for violating traffic regulations during a crackdown in Kowloon East yesterday.

 

From 7am to 11pm, 213 officers were sent to enforce regulations at traffic accident blacksites and potential traffic accident locations in Kowloon East.

 

They issued another 188 fixed-penalty tickets for illegal parking and other parking offences.

 

A total of 161 pedestrians and 89 drivers were verbally warned for jaywalking and other minor traffic offences.

 

Officers also distributed road-safety leaflets to road users.

 

There were 1,447 traffic accidents involving personal injuries in Kowloon East Region from January to September this year.
