32 inmates achieve good exam results
*

Thirty-two young Cape Collinson Correctional Institution inmates received 88 academic and vocational certificates at a ceremony today, recognising their efforts and willingness to turn over a new leaf.

They obtained 65 distinctions and credits, and 29 passes in the City & Guilds of London Institute Examinations, the Certificate of Education Examination, and the Construction Industry Council Training Academy examinations.

A total of 153 candidates from the institution have sat for academic and vocational examinations in the past 12 months. Of the 357 certificates obtained, 133 were merit certificates.

The inmates achieved good results in Chinese, English, mathematics, commerce, social studies, travel and tourism, word processing and business communication, computer applications, the City & Guilds Vocational Qualifications and the training academy's intermediate trade tests.

The institution also saw a passing rate record of 85.7% in the Certificate of Education Examination this year.
