4 to be charged for drink driving
*
Police

Police have arrested six drivers for drink driving related offences during a four-day operation ending yesterday. Four were found to be over the legal limit and will be charged.

Sixty-six roadblocks and spot-checks were mounted, and 898 drivers were required to conduct breath tests.

Since the introduction of the Road Traffic Legislation (Amendment) Ordinance 2008 on February 9, Police have breath tested 24,715 drivers.

Of the 161 drivers failing tests or refusing to be tested, 126 were either found to be over the limit or refused the test and were arrested.
