Summer anti-drug campaign to launch

*

A series of activities will be held over the summer holiday as part of the Be Smart Be Free No Drugs No Nightmare publicity campaign.

An open-top bus will take members of an anti-drug dance squad through the streets and selected karaoke shops to promote anti-drug messages. The bus will tour different districts of Hong Kong each weekend in August. The dancers will perform the new anti-drug theme song by Canto-pop group FAMA and distribute promotional leaflets.

The bus will debut this weekend in Kwai Fong, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai.

Another activity will be a lyric-writing contest where contestants can choose a popular song and rewrite the words into an anti-drug theme. Their work may be used to produce anti-drug songs to be aired on the radio.

The events are being organised by the Security Bureau's Narcotics Division, the Action Committee Against Narcotics and sponsors.

Meanwhile, a counselling centre for psychotropic drug abusers, the Evangelical Lutheran Church's Enlighten Centre, will arrange counselling and basic medical check-ups at Tin Yat Estate, Tin Shui Wai.
