Taxi strikes, kills senior in Tai Po

Hong Kong Police

Police have arrested a 45-year-old taxi driver for careless driving after he hit a woman, aged about 80, in Tai Po who later died.

 

At 8.54am today, the taxi driver was driving along On Cheung Road northbound. As he passed the junction with On Chee Road, he reportedly hit the woman as she was crossing the road.

 

The woman was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and was certified dead at 10.09am.

 

The woman was about 1.5m tall. No identification document was found on her.

 

Witnesses or those with information about the woman's identity should call the Police on 3661 3800.
