Police are investigating after an elderly woman died in a traffic accident in Mong Kok this evening.

At about 7pm, a 21-year-old man was driving a van westbound on Shantung Street. As he passed Reclamation Street, the van reportedly struck the woman, who was walking on the street.

She was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was certified dead at 7.23 pm.

She was wearing a white shirt and dark trousers, but carried no identity document. Anyone who saw the accident or who knows the woman is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2773 5200 or 2773 5288.
