ID card eligibility verification goes online
*
Immigration Department

Applications for verification of eligibility for a permanent identity card can now be made online, the Immigration Department says.

Previously applicants had to apply by post or via the department's drop-in boxes.

To use the online service an applicant can click here, complete the application form online, print it, sign it and scan the completed form together with supporting documents for online submission.

Applicants must be staying in Hong Kong legally when making the application, regardless of whether it is submitted by pos, in person or online.

From today applicants who have submitted applications or been notified by the department to submit supplementary documents, can submit them online.

Applicants can also change or enquire about their scheduled appointments for producing documents for verification either online or calling the 24-hour booking system 2598 0888.
