Police today arrested a 56-year-old man and seized 2kg of methamphetamine, or "ice", worth $1.34 million at Hong Kong International Airport.

He has been charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and will appear in Tsuen Wan Magistry tomorrow.

He was stopped by Police in the departure hall on his way to Japan. Eight packs of ice were found in specially stitched pockets of two garments in his luggage.

The estimated market value of the seized drugs is $6 million if sold in Japan.
