The Correctional Services Department has seized unauthorised articles in Hei Ling Chau correctional institution, disciplining 18 inmates.

The officers searched the institution yesterday and seized unauthorised articles including self-made gambling paraphernalia, betting notes and extra food from inmates' meals.

Food provisions and workshop materials were also found from dining halls, the kitchen, workshops and dormitories.

The 18 inmates have been transferred to other penal institutions with three removed from normal association.
