4 arrested for selling fake HDTV receivers
*
Customs & Excise Department

Customs have arrested four people for selling counterfeit digital high-definition television receivers, seizing 54 of the fake set-top boxes worth $70,000.

Officers launched in-depth investigations after receiving information from a trademark owner. They raided a shop and two temporary stalls in Apliu Street, Sham Shui Po, yesterday and arrested three men and a woman aged 29 to 49.

It is believed they attempted to take advantage of the demand for TV receivers during the Olympics and sold the counterfeits at the price of the genuine products.
