Late firemen Siu Wing-fong and Chan Siu-lung have been posthumously awarded the Medal for Bravery (Gold) for their courage and self-sacrifice in rescuing people in the recent Cornwall Court fire in Mong Kok.
The medals will be presented at the 2008 Honours & Awards Presentation Ceremony in October.
The two continued helping trapped people in the fire, even though their air supplies were running out. They rescued two stranded residents before collapsing from toxic smoke inhalation.
The Government said they showed exceptional courage and gallantry of the highest order, and have demonstrated the noblest qualities of a public servant.
