Man charged for fatal Cheung Sha Wan crash

*
Hong Kong Police

Police today charged a 43-year-old private car driver with one count of dangerous driving causing death in a fatal collision with a taxi in Cheung Sha Wan on August 10. He will appear in Kowloon City Magistracy tomorrow.

The 51-year-old taxi driver and his 35-year-old passenger died in the crash, which also sent the private car driver and his 27-year-old female passenger to Princess Margaret Hospital with injuries.

About 6am, the man was driving along Ching Cheung Road towards Wong Tai Sin. Near Butterfly Valley Road, he lost control of his car, hitting a road sign and a lamp post before crossing the central divider and colliding with the taxi that was travelling in the opposite direction.
