Man jailed for false accounting
*

The District Court has jailed a 45-year-old man for two years and 10 months for false accounting and procuring the making of an entry in the record of a bank by deception.

He manipulated four trading companies to obtain cash advances of up to $8 million from a bank by presenting false shipping documents in 1995.

He was arrested in Las Vegas and extradited to Hong Kong on December 21, 2006.

He was charged with 10 counts of false accounting and five counts of procuring the making of an entry in the record of a bank by deception.
