*
Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers have shut down a pirated optical disc syndicate, arresting four men and two women, aged 19 to 36.

Today's operation saw raids on a disc-replicating centre in a Ta Kwu Ling village house and a Yau Ma Tei storage centre. Officers seized 110 replicating machines and 15,000 pirated discs including software, games and films worth $450,000.

The discs were to be sold in West Kowloon retail outlets.
