Police nab celebrity photo source
*

Police are set to charge a 23-year-old man as the source of obscene photos depicting what appear to be local entertainers which were posted online. He will appear in court tomorrow.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Wong Fook-chuen told reporters today the man will be charged for accessing a computer with criminal or dishonest intent.

Police believe he used dishonest means to steal data from the computer when it was taken to a repair shop. Mr Wong said investigators will focus on whether the photos are obscene, not whether they are original or fake.

Mr Wong rejected suggestions Police have given the case higher priority because it involves celebrities, saying it treats every case with equal importance.

Another man, aged 29, has already been charged for publishing the pictures. Three other men and two women also arrested in the case have been released on bail, and another man is expected to be allowed bail soon.
