Ngong Ping 360 charged for negligence
*

The Department of Justice has charged Ngong Ping 360 and the company's former director William Calderwood for negligence.

The Commerce & Economic Development Bureau today said the department initiated legal action against them after considering the investigation information about the Ngong Ping cable-car cabin dislodgement incident.

They were charged for negligently failing to provide to the company's officer(s) with necessary procedures and instructions to perform a brake test, and such act or omission was likely to render the ropeway unsafe for people in the vicinity of it.

In order not to prejudice the legal proceedings it is inappropriate to release any further details, the bureau said.
