New ICAC building opens
*
Chief Executive Donald Tsang
Firm foundation: Chief Executive Donald Tsang officiates at the opening ceremony of the new ICAC Building.
*

The new ICAC Building has opened, denoting a new milestone for the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

Speaking at the opening ceremony today, Chief Executive Donald Tsang said the ICAC's dedication and determination to tackle corruption and crime has been a critical factor in Hong Kong's development as an international hub for business and finance.

"Companies come to Hong Kong and invest their money here because they have trust and confidence in our legal system, and because they know we run a clean ship.

"Now that the ICAC has this splendid new headquarters, complete with advanced operational and training facilities, it will be even better equipped to train officers to tackle the challenges ahead.

"I am sure that ICAC officers and staff will continue to discharge their duties 'without fear or favour' to maintain Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre, and as a clean economy."

ICAC Commissioner Timothy Tong pledged  the commission would continue to serve, without fear or favour, to help keep Hong Kong fair, just, stable and prosperous.

The 25-storey ICAC Building on Java Road in North Point houses an operations control room, video interview rooms, a detention centre, a report centre, an identification parade room, an indoor shooting range, a multi-purpose training hall, a multi-purpose theatre and an exhibition hall.
