Chief Executive Donald Tsang has praised fire and ambulance officers for maintaining a high degree of alertness and exemplary courage and professionalism in safeguarding people's lives.
Visiting the Fire Services Department today Mr Tsang saw ambulance service facilities at the West Kowloon Rescue Training Centre.
He also boarded the Mobile Casualty Treatment Centre which provides advanced facilities for performing minor operations on site, and chatted an Emergency Medical Assistant Motorcyclist.

Mr Tsang was shown the live fire training chamber that simulates different types of fire rigs to strengthen the firefighters' skill in tackling different types of blazes.
He toured the breathing apparatus training chamber that provides training for firefighters to overcome claustrophobia and to use their tactile senses to find routes of escape.
He inspected an infrared sensor system that enables firefighters to train safely, and the Fire Services Communications Centre which has adopted an advanced telecommunication and computer integrated mobilising system to improve efficiency.
