*
Monetary Authority logo

The Monetary Authority calls on consumers to beware of suspected fraudulent emails purporting to be issued by the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation.

The emails asked the bank's customers to use an embedded hyperlink to connect to a fraudulent website and verify their account information by entering their Internet banking account's user name and password.

The bank has clarified it has no connection with the emails and has reported the case to the Police.

People who receive fraudulent emails of this kind should call Police on 2860 5012 and contact the bank on 2748 3322.
