Two arrested for unmanifested marked oil
*
Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers seized 23,000 litres of unmanifested marked oil, worth about $115,000, last night.

They stopped a fishing vessel off Lung Kwu Tan as it was leaving and uncovered 23,000 litres of unmanifested marked oil inside the under-deck tanks.

They arrested two Mainland men, aged 40 and 51, who faced charges of attempting to export unmanifested cargo.

If they are found guilty, they may be liable to a $2 million fine and seven years in prison. The vessel involved will also be confiscated.
