$12m in electronic goods seized in Tuen Mun
*
Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers have shut down a syndicate smuggling electronic goods to the Mainland by sea, arresting seven men and seizing $12 million in contraband.

Officers raided a shop on Sam Shing Street in Tuen Mun at 5pm yesterday. Cartons of goods were delivered to the venue, which was disguised as a seafood shop, for temporary storage. The goods were then loaded onto sampans in the evening to smuggle to the Mainland. The goods included hard-disks, used mobile phones, MP3 players and watches.
