Smoke boat: Customs officers seized 380,000 smuggled cigarettes worth $570,000, and with a duty potential of $305,000, from a Mainland fishing vessel.

Customs officers have arrested four men, seizing 380,000 smuggled cigarettes worth $570,000, and with a duty potential of $305,000, from a Mainland fishing vessel.

 

Officers intercepted the boat off Chai Wan at 11.15pm yesterday and found the cigarettes in a concealed compartment.

 

The vessel master and three crewmen, aged 27 to 49, were arrested.
