The Monetary Authority warns the public to beware of fraudsters duping people into believing they have won a lottery and need to deposit an advance fee into a bank account before the winnings can be remitted. The fraudsters contacted victims by phone, claiming to be authority staff.
The authority said it has no connection with the fraudulent calls and has reported cases to Police.
Anyone who receives such calls should call Police on 2860 5012.
