Driver dies in Tsuen Wan traffic mishap

Police are investigating a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Tsuen Wan last night in which a 56-year-old driver was killed.

 

At about 10.25pm, a private car and a van had a minor collision on Cheung Pei Shan Road near the Shing Mun Tunnel toll plaza, headed towards Tsuen Wan. As the two drivers got out of their vehicles, a public light bus rammed into the two vehicles.

 

Five men and 12 women, aged 21 to 62, were injured and sent to Princess Margaret and Yan Chai Hospitals. They included 13 bus passengers, the  23-year-old-van driver and his two passengers, and a passenger in the private car. The 56-year-old car driver was also sent to Princess Margaret Hospital and was certified dead on arrival at 11:14pm.

 

Police arrested the bus driver for dangerous driving causing death.
