Man jailed for assaulting hygiene officer
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

A man has been jailed three months for assaulting a Food & Environmental Hygiene Department officer. He was also ordered to pay $1,000 to the victim.

Kowloon City Magistracy heard today that the defendant dropped a cigarette butt in Nelson Street, Mong Kok, on March 15.

When the officer stopped him and asked for his personal particulars, the defendant refused to co-operate and assaulted him.

He was eventually arrested with Police assistance.
