Illicit shipment: Nine unmanifested dismantled vehicles are seized from a Mainland cargo vessel off Tap Shek Kok.
*

Three Mainlanders have been arrested for attempting to smuggle nine dismantled vehicles, worth about $180,000, to the Mainland.

About 1am today, Customs officers found a suspicious Mainland cargo vessel off Tap Shek Kok. They stopped it and found nine unmanifested vehicles on board.

The crewmen, aged 29 to 38, were arrested and will be charged with attempting to export unmanifested cargo and possession on board a vessel a prescribed article without lawful excuse.

They will appear in Tuen Mun Magistracy tomorrow.
