Air mail: Customs officers have seized $480,000 worth of cannabis from postal parcels from Canada.
*

Customs officers have seized $480,000-worth of cannabis from postal parcels from Canada. Nobody has claimed the parcels so far and investigations are underway.

Officers at the airport have this year seized 1,800g of cannabis buds at the Air Mail Centre, worth $540,000.

It is believed that the surge in the number of cases of drugs being trafficked via parcel is due to the increase in demand for the upcoming festive season. Officers have stepped up scrutiny of postal parcels.
