More than 60 drivers from 20 trade associations have signed a charter demonstrating their commitment to enhancing road safety awareness and promoting safe driving.

Opening yesterday's event at Kowloon Bay, Commissioner for Transport Alan Wong said drivers must have the right attitude and concentrate to drive safely at all times. He called on the trade to encourage more drivers to promulgate the safety charter, and be responsible motorists.

The department and the trade will arrange seminars and publicity programmes soon.
