300-plus tickets issued in traffic crackdown

Traffic officers in Kowloon East Region handed out 148 fixed-penalty tickets and 133 summonses to motorists and pedestrians who violated traffic regulations during a crackdown yesterday.

 

From 7am to 11pm, 132 officers were sent to traffic accident blacksites in Kowloon East Region.

 

They issued another 160 tickets for parking offences, and verbally warned 177 people for jaywalking and other minor traffic offences.

 

They also distributed pamphlets with road-safety messages.

 

From January to October, 1,706 traffic accidents occurred in Kowloon East.
