The Fire Services Department has issued a warning to consumers to beware of fire equipment sellers who may give improper safety advice.

The department said some people claiming to represent certain "associations" or "centres" dedicated to fire safety have been touting their goods after talks purportedly on fire safety.

Any organisation, firm or school that wants to know more about fire safety is welcome to call the department's Community Relations Division on 2117 6560.
