Hong Kong and Japanese Police have mounted a joint operation against a trans-national drug trafficking syndicate, arresting six Hong Kong people and seizing 14kg of "ice" valued at $20.5 million in Japan.
Since July, Hong Kong Police have been monitoring the syndicate which employed body-packed couriers for smuggling "ice" to Japan.
On August 16, Narcotics Bureau officers told Japan National Police Agency three men and three women were flying to Tokyo. They were intercepted at Tokyo Narita Airport and four packets of "ice" were found on them. The suspects, aged 23 to 28, were arrested for drug trafficking.
