$2.16m in silver plates seized

Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers have seized 42 unmanifested silver plates, worth about $2.16 million, from an outgoing container truck at Lok Ma Chau.

 

At 9.40pm yesterday, officers intercepted the truck, which was declared to be empty. They found the plates hidden amongst the trailer's axles and arrested the 50-year-old driver.
