2 teens die in bike-minibus crash

Two 15-year-old boys have died after a minibus knocked down the bicycle they were riding in Sheung Shui. Police have arrested the 52-year-old minibus driver.

 

At about 8pm yesterday, the minibus was travelling on Jockey Club Road towards Sheung Shui in the second lane. Near Ling Shan Road, it reportedly knocked down the bicycle as it was crossing the road.

 

Both boys on board the bicycle were sent to North District Hospital where the bike driver was certified dead at 8:21pm. His bike passenger died at 3:46 this morning.

 

The minibus driver was arrested for drink driving and dangerous driving causing death. He was released on $10,000 bail and must report back to Police toay.

 

The New Territories North special traffic investigation team is following up.
