ICAC

A former Sunday Communications assistant account manager has been charged for conducting unauthorised checks on customer information for debt collectors.

Chan Siu-man, 30, will appear in Eastern Magistracy tomorrow to face six counts of conspiracy to access a computer with criminal or dishonest intent.

Four charges allege that between January 2004 and last December he conspired with others to access one of Sunday's computers for the dishonest gain of those people.

The other two allege he conspired with others to access the computers of two other telephone companies between November 2004 and last January for his own dishonest gain.

The defendant checked customer data for debt collectors, or for a businessman, to locate clients.
