Immigration Department

Hong Kong and the European Union have reviewed the implementation of protocols for the agreement on the readmission of people residing without authorisation, and affirmed the determination to foster greater collaboration on immigration matters.

Director of Immigration Lai Tung-kwok and European Commission Head of Immigration & Asylum Unit for Directorate-General Justice, Freedom & Security Nicola Annecchino conducted the second meeting of the Joint European Commission - Hong Kong Readmission Committee in Hong Kong on Thursday.

Mr Annecchino thanked Hong Kong for the co-operation and efforts in implementing the readmission agreement.

Both sides also exchanged views on migratory issues at the meeting.
