Nine Egyptian coach crash victims and their family members will leave Egypt on February 3 and are expected to arrive in Hong Kong on February 4, Principal Assistant Secretary for Security Linda So says.

Ms So today said the nine survivors who will return to the city are four men, three women, a girl and a boy. An Immigration Officer will accompany them.

Since most of them sustained minor injuries,  arrangements will be made at the airport to help transport the victims.

A Hong Kong resident is being treated in a hospital in Cairo, and two women in Hurghada. Three victims have been flown to Zurich for treatment and another one is being transferred to Paris.

The concerned travel agency has agreed to arrange for the 11 victims who have been discharged to leave the country as soon as possible. The Government will render every possible assistance.

Egyptian authorities have promised to facilitate the process of obtaining death certificates, and Ms So expects the documents to be issued within two days.

The department's 1868 hotline has received 10 calls for help so far, while the Social Welfare Department's 6293 0120 hotline has had eight requests.
