2 charged with stealing Buddhist pines
*
Hong Kong Police

Two Mainland men suspected to have stolen Buddhist pines from the hillside near Yin Tsz Ngam in Sai Kung have been charged with theft.

The two suspects aged 30 and 35 will appear in Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts tomorrow.

At about 9.30pm on Monday night, officers of the Marine Police Small Boat Division spotted a suspicious speedboat manoeuvring off Yin Tsz Ngam heading towards Mainland waters.

The speedboat with the two Mainlanders onboard was then intercepted east of Yin Tsz Ngam. Six Buddhist pines were seized from the boat.

Investigations suggest that the pair stole the Buddhist pines from the hillside near Yin Tsz Ngam.
