Wong Tai Sin crash claims young life

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 29-year-old man was killed in Wong Tai Sin yesterday.

 

Shortly before 10pm, a 24-year-old man was driving a light goods vehicle westbound along Lung Cheung Road. The vehicle reportedly rammed into a bus driven by a 52-year-old man. The bus was stopping outside Wong Tai Sin Shopping Centre to let passengers alight. A 29-year-old passenger in the light goods vehicle was trapped inside after the impact.

 

Sustaining serious injuries, he and the 24-year-old driver were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where the former was certified dead at 10.50pm.

 

Investigations by the Traffic Kowloon East Special Investigation Branch are continuing. People who have information should call the investigating officers at 2305 7570 or Traffic Kowloon East report room at 2305 7500.
