Thirty-eight men and three women have been commended for helping Police fight crime. With their help, 40 culprits were arrested for wounding, robbery, indecent assault and blackmail.

Tse Kin-fai, winner of the Good Citizen of the Year Award, helped subdue a man who snatched a mobile phone from a woman and hurt her with a cutter near Shau Kei Wan MTR Station on November 28. He suffered hand and neck injuries in the incident. He was presented with a plaque and a cash award of $3,000.

Good Citizen Award recipient Luk Chi-nam aided Police in arresting a hammer-wielding man who attacked a woman and stole her handbag outside Mong Kok KCR Station on November 9. He and the other 39 winners were given a certificate and a $2,000-cheque.

Commissioner of Police Dick Lee commended them for their courage and commitment to society, adding they have set a good example for Hong Kong's citizens.
