Police are appealing for information on the identity of a body found in Kam Shan Country Park, Cheung Sha Wan.

The male body was found about 2pm today after a hiker noticed the smell emanating from bushes beside a footpath leading to Piper's Hill.

The unidentified man, believed to be in his fifties, was of fat build and was wearing blue canvas shoes and carrying a green canvas bag. An eight-inch long fruit knife was found beside the deceased. He is believed to have been dead about a week and a post mortem examination will be held.
