A 22-year-old man has been jailed 14 years for drug trafficking.

The Court of First Instance heard that on October 31 last year the man and a 20-year-old woman were stopped by Police when leaving a Tai Kok Tsui unit. About 28.2 grams of a powder containing paracetamol and 1.36 grams of another powder containing 0.26 grams of drugs were found in the woman's possession.

A further 19,040 tablets of 'Erimin 5' and 1,673 tablets of ecstasy and 1.72kgs of a powder containing 0.81kgs of Erimin 5 were found in the flat. Another search of a Yau Ma Tei unit also saw the seizure of 51,389 tablets of Erimin 5 and 27,106 tablets of ecstasy.

The man was charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and trafficking in purported dangerous drugs.

The woman was sentenced to two months jail for possession. However, as she had been detained for over five months before being granted bail, she was allowed immediate release.
