Beware of a fraudulent website with the domain name www.hkird.com and e-mails from that website. The Inland Revenue Department says the website looks similar to the department's own official website.

The department has reported the case to Police for further investigation. Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact the department at 2594 5355 or taxinfo@ird.gov.hk. 

They should also report their cases to any local Police Station or call the Commercial Crime Bureau at 2860 5012.
