Road safety

*
Parade may cause traffic congestion
*
Transport Department

Special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented for the 2005 Lions Clubs International Convention Parade tomorrow along Convention Avenue, Fenwick Pier Street and Lung Wui Road between Golden Bauhinia Square and Tamar Site.

Traffic congestion is expected along eastbound Harcourt Road, Gloucester Road corridor and Wan Chai North during the event.

The Transport Department reminds motorists to avoid using relevant roads. Passengers are advised to take Mass Transit Railways as far as possible if they have to travel in the affected areas.

The bus terminus on Expo Drive East will be suspended from 1pm until the re-opening of roads. Bus diversions and bus-stop arrangements will be implemented from about 5pm to the last departure.

Details of road closures as well as special traffic and transport arrangements are available on the department's webpage. Enquiries may be made on 2804 2600 or 1823.
