Senior dies in Tai Po traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tai Po this afternoon in which an 83-year-old man was killed.

 

At about 1:30pm, a bus travelling along Ting Kok Road towards Tai Mei Tuak reportedly knocked down the elderly man as he was crossing the road near the junction of Kwong Fuk Road.

 

The man was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and later transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 3.02pm.

 

Police arrested the 36-year-old bus driver for dangerous driving causing death.

 

The New Territories North's special traffic investigation team is following up.
